Hello! Thank you for your interest in Kootenai Stability & Resilience Group! We’re so glad you found us and we’re excited for you to join our group of volunteers working toward building deeper community resilience. As a nonpartisan organization, we welcome everyone regardless of race, gender, religion, politics, etc.

We encourage our members to be actively involved in KSRG. When one of our volunteers reaches out to you directly, which we’ll try to do soon, you’ll be asked to identify the team(s) on which you feel you could be most helpful. These are our current teams and responsibilities:

Administration/Personnel: Reach out to prospective members via various means – phone, text, email, Signal, social media, etc. – and maintain up-to-date team membership rosters.

Communication: Establish and maintain a viable network for sharing information, especially in a decentralized manner, should normal communications (cell phones, internet, etc.) be hindered in a crisis.

Engineering/Energy: Create and manage the physical infrastructure and energy our community will require in the event of a crisis.

Food/Water/Sustainability: Source and maintain reliable food and water supplies in the event of a crisis.

Fundraising/Finance: Attain monies to best serve the various committees and to establish/maintain alternate forms of exchange in the event of a crisis.

Health/Medical: Care for the physical well-being of the people in our community in the event of a crisis.

Logistics: Coordinate supply chains and transportation of resources in the event of a crisis.

Political Outreach: Work in tandem with our elected officials in service of community resilience.

PR/Media: Manage KSRG’s messaging, ensuring communications are presented with professionalism, thoughtfulness, and care.

Much of our communication, both for teams and for all KSRG-wide volunteers, is via Signal. If you join KSRG you will need to download that app to a phone and/or computer to communicate with other members. We currently do not have regular KSRG-wide meetings. The best way for you to stay informed is to become part of a team, join that team’s Signal channel, and participate in that team’s meetings.

Please reflect on the team responsibilities and reply to this email with your top one or two choices of the team you feel is the best fit.

We look forward to connecting with you soon to answer any remaining questions you may have. In the meantime, you’ll find a great deal of information on the KSRG website, which is updated frequently.
